Hundreds of Inside-Out folks from all over the world gathered together to celebrate the accomplishments of the people, institutions, and communities that have been involved in Inside-Out over the first 25+ years. This event combined the unique pedagogical approach of the Inside-Out program, providing the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of educators, former inside and outside students, and others from throughout the US and several other countries.
Beginning and concluding at the historic Mitten Hall on Temple University’s campus in Philadelphia, PA, the 25th+ Anniversary was a chance to meet new friends, connect with old acquaintances, and both celebrate and share some of the many creative initiatives developed over the years.
After a welcome reception Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday featured day-long programming that included hands-on activities, artistic performances, workshops, panels, and presentations.
Monday ended with a dinner and celebration at The Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center (PICC), the actual facility where the Inside-Out program began in Fall 1997.
Tuesday night featured an awards ceremony, remembrances, a keynote speaker, and concluding thoughts about Inside-Out over the next 25+ years.
