Q: What is the first step I should take when I consider applying?
A: Determine how you will secure funding. Although a few participants will pay for themselves, the majority of training participants work with their educational institutions / professional organizations to acquire funding. In some situations, this can take up to a year or more, so please make plans far in advance.
Q: What does the application process require?
A: 1. Complete the online application. 2. Pay the non-refundable application fee. Instructions are provided on the application page. 3. Once this has been completed, you will be scheduled for a 45-minute phone or Zoom interview with Lori Pompa, Executive Director.
Q: If I complete the three-step application process (as outlined above), is my acceptance guaranteed?
A: The final decision for acceptance into a training is made by the Executive Director and you will receive an email of acceptance from Eilene Frierson.
Q: I do not work in the field of higher education. Can I still benefit from the training?
A: Yes. The Inside-Out Training Institutes are open to anyone. However, much of the content provided during the training is geared toward those in higher education who wish to teach an Inside-Out course. Nevertheless, the Inside-Out curriculum provided during the training may be modified for other professional and community settings.
Q: How can I pay for the training?
A: You may pay your training fees by credit card, check, money order, or Flywire (for international payments only). Payment options will be included on the application page and on the invoice that is sent to you, once you have been accepted into a training session.
If you need the name on your invoice made out differently, or if your fees have to be split for payment or reimbursement purposes, please contact Eilene Frierson at eilene.frierson@temple.edu as soon as possible. This will prevent multiple invoices being sent or invoices being voided and resent.
Q: When are payments due?
A: Your application fee must be paid prior to scheduling your phone/Zoom interview, unless you have discussed your special need with Eilene Frierson. Tuition fees are expected to be paid in full prior to the beginning of your selected training. If this is not possible, you must contact Eilene Frierson as soon as you are aware that you need special arrangements, so that a decision can be made on how to proceed.
